Thomas Hall Art Show, Eastern Art Students Art Show, More This Week – The Daily Eastern News


There will be an art exhibition in the South Quad of Thomas Hall which will be held Monday through Friday.

All submissions must be at Thomas Hall reception by 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Multiple submissions are permitted.

There will be meal dollar certificates for the top submissions for Thomas Hall residents as well as first, second and third place overall prizes.

The annual Edible Book Festival is held Mondays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Booth Library.

The festival celebrates National Library Week which allows participants to prepare dishes from their favorite books. for more information contact [email protected]

The textbook rental service will hold a sale of discarded textbooks Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In honor of National Caramel Day, the Taylor Dining Room will be serving caramel-inspired dishes during lunch and dinner on Tuesday.

TRiO students will lead a self-care workshop on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The workshop allows students to meditate and clear their minds to prepare for the final.

Career Services will be hosting a Culinary Etiquette Dinner at The Brickhouse Restaurant on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.

Professionals from several industries will be present where you can learn about networking and etiquette in professional settings.

The event is free, but there will be a $20 fee for students who register and do not attend.

There will be internship opportunities at Lumpkin College Of Business and Technology, LCBT on Wednesday in Lumpkin Hall 2011.

The event allows students to learn how to get an internship.

Las Cafeteras will perform at the Dvorak Concert Hall, located at the Doudna Fine Arts Center, on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The band tells modern stories about Latino and immigrant life and sings in English, Spanish and Spanglish.

Panther Bash will take place Thursday at the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union from 7-10 p.m.

The event will allow students to play different types of games, such as arcade and garden games, mini golf, roller skating and much more.

There is no charge to attend.

Dogs and Donuts will take place Friday from 3-5 p.m. in Thomas Hall.

Students have the opportunity to eat donuts and interact with emotional support dogs.

The Tarble Arts Center will host a Tarble After Hours event on Friday from 5-8 p.m.

The event allows attendees to celebrate the debut of the 2022 EIU Undergraduate Art Exhibition and the 2022 EIU Studio Art Exhibition.

The EIU Undergraduate Art Exhibition Awards Ceremony will take place at 5 p.m., followed by a fashion show at 6 p.m.

Latin American student organization, LASO, will perform La Fiesta Latina at the Newman Center on Saturday at 7 p.m., but doors open at 6 p.m.

The event will feature food, games, music and dancing.

The cost will be $10 at the door and food and entertainment will be served.
