The Village Gallery is looking for black and white art for an exhibition

CALEDONIA – The Village Gallery is inviting artists to submit works for a themed exhibition, “Black and White”, which will run from May 6-28.

Works in any artistic medium, including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture or photography are eligible. The only requirement is that it must be black and white art, with no color.

Up to two articles per artist can be submitted. The registration fee is $10 per registration.

Works featured in the exhibit must have been made within the last three years and must not exceed 36 inches in all dimensions. Entries must be the artist’s original concept, not made from a kit, and cannot violate copyright laws or have been previously exhibited in The Village Gallery.

All artwork must be framed and ready for display. Paintings must have a hanging wire and sculptures must have a pedestal for display or to be able to stand on the ground.

The work is put up for sale, with a commission of 30% of the sale price retained by the gallery. A “People’s Choice Award”, with a prize of $100, will be awarded at the end of the exhibition.

The gallery will accept works between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on May 1 or by appointment.

An opening reception is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. on May 6.
